Module 1: Introduction & Design Foundations
You'll get to know Charity Kase’s background and artistic journey, understand what you’ll learn throughout the course, and dive into the essential tools and products. This section also focuses on creating original creature concepts, digital moodboarding, sketching, and using printable facecharts to bring story-driven designs to life.
Module 2: Sculpting & Prosthetics
Covers the essentials of building 3D elements. You’ll explore both DIY and pre-made prosthetic options, learn how to craft latex and flour masks, sculpt teeth and facial features, and creatively use materials like paper and foam clay to elevate your character designs.
Module 3: Skin Effects & Textures
You’ll learn to create realistic skin effects such as scales, scars, and wrinkles. This module introduces key tools like rigid collodion, latex, and scar wax to build convincing, detailed textures that bring your creatures to life.
Module 4-7: Painting & Facial Transformations
In these modules, you'll deep dive into color theory and illusion techniques. Across four modules, you’ll master paint blending, fantasy contouring, and illusionary effects for eyes, noses, and mouths. This includes the use of blackout lenses, brow blocking, paper lashes and all sorts.
Module 8-9: Hair, Wigs & Costume FX
Focuses on unconventional wig styling to build texture and drama. You’ll also learn how to embellish costumes, craft accessories, and distress fabric to complete your character’s full look with professional-level finishing touches.
Module 10: Full Look in Real Time
You’ll watch and follow along as Charity constructs an entire creature transformation from start to finish. This real-time demonstration ties together all the skills you’ve learned and shows you exactly how to apply them to your own creative projects.
